stormy (not stormzy)
I've seen some spectacular storms in my lifetime. The worst was probably in 2000 when on holiday in Corfu I watched open mouthed at the storms over the Albanian Mountains across the Adriatic Sea.
Until that is last night (August 12) when it became apparent from around 7.30 pm that we were in for the mother of all thunderstorms. I say apparent as the sky was the strangest I had ever seen it. The following images don't really do the feelings any justice. The air felt electric, it was muggy and totally still with absolutely no breeze.
Then the temperature dropped significantly and the thunder started. Then came the absolutely torrential rain.
At one point we were surrounded by storms in all directions, with the worst being to the south west over Swansea Bay and another you could actually see rolling down the Neath Valley towards us.
Now, I love lightning. I love the spectacle of watching our planet actually working. But at one point last night as lightning burst all around us I was quite frightened for once. A few years ago a house on a neighbouring street was struck. Luckily the occupants were out at the time or its likely they'd have been seriously injured or worse.
The thunder and lightning continued throughout much of the night, though with strangely little rain falling.
More storms are forecast for tonight. Hopefully hey'll be easier to enjoy than last night's peril filled episode.

I'm considering a move away from Blogger as the vehicle for my, erm, blog.
I've become more and more frustrated at the inability to post comments under blog entries and formatting posts to get them to look the way I want is getting progressively more difficult.
And now they've changed the way the blog looks to us creators I think it's time for a move.
But what to do?
I think he most sensible option is my own website; a place where I can curate my images the way I want to and interact with site users in a more positive way.
Decisions, decisions...
You'd never survive here if you don't like wild storms.....also, I TOTALLY agree with you about Blogger. I'm considering moving too, but to where? It's a conundrum........ :-/
