the sunrise to end all sunrises

After nearly forty years of trouble-free driving, I picked up my first speeding fine the other week.

Driving up to our "Paradise" at 4.30am I was pinged by a speed camera in the middle of nowhere.  No excuses.  But 44 in a 40 in the dead of the night on a dead straight, dead quiet country road which until very recently had a 60mph limit on it is, I think, taking the proverbial a little.

Anyway, at least I got a decent photo.  Did I say decent?  What I really mean is spectacular!

Fujifilm GFX50R, Fujinon GF 23mm f4

tripod, self-timer release, no filters

My law breaking "dash" to the mountains was rewarded with the sun rising over Pen y Fan and Corn Du - the highest mountains in the southern British Isles.  It literally had me gasping in amazement.

I hope my image conveys the feelings I had that morning.  Well, the positive ones anyway.

I now await my fate.  I'd imagine summary execution is on the cards.

  1. Spectacular indeed! WOWZA!!!!! (BTW, over here you have to be going at least 5 mph over the limit before they can ticket you.....or so I've been told!)
