dark skies

A sunset trip to Dunraven Bay and the light was not looking promising.  Thick cloud shrouded the horizon blocking any chances of the sun lighting up the higher cloud.

I'd rattled off a couple of long exposure shots, when a look to the south west revealed a sliver of light breaking between the blanket of clouds.

I found a lovely subject - a small rock in the sand and composed as best I could while watching the fleeting light slowly disappear.  With more time I think I could have got something better.  For starters, I really needed a wider angle lens, but I just didn't have the time to fit it - this was literally speed photography!

  1. Not everything we do is a masterpiece. This is still a lovely shot. :)
