15 minutes of peace and tranquility

In the closing overs of Summer 2021, I followed up a blood test at hospital with a quick dash down to the nearby Limeslade Bay.

The main reason for my trip was to test out my newest lens purchase.  I upgraded my old Fujinon 10-24 wide-angle zoom to its weather-sealed replacement, and wanted to make sure the lens was working as it should.

It also gave me a chance to use a dead cheap 10-stop filter that I bought on a whim on eBay a couple of years ago.

I spotted this piece of driftwood mimicking the line made by the rocky promontory and composed so they were parallel and in the centre of the frame pointing to the negative space on the right hand side of the image.  (I also edited this image applying a square crop which can be seen on my 500PX and Instagram pages - see the links on the front page of my blog).

I then filmed around 15 minutes of the incoming tide gently lapping the rocky shoreline before changing to stills modern my Fujifilm X-T4 and shooting this week's image.

I love them (the lens and image that is, and I suppose the filter too though it's nearer 12 stops than 10!), and hope you do too?
