it's getting silly now
I change my computer every five years or so, and by the time I do my outgoing machine is creaking at the seams and fit to burst while it tries to handle the latest photo-editing technology and ever increasing raw file sizes I throw at it.

I'm your huckleb...I mean Apple |
Incremental improvements have generally been small enough that by the time my machine is five years old I really notice an improvement boost when I change.
These latest computers though? It's just insane. Their performance makes current computers look like archaic, 1960's tape-fed behemoths that took three weeks to do a sum. You know, the ones that took us to the moon?!
Analysts are falling over themselves in praise of these latest laptops and I have to agree that their performance is simply staggering. It's like ten years of development only condensed into one!
Of course I want one. But I am going to wait my five years. I can't imagine what they will look and perform like in 2024. I imagine they'll perform a task before you've even thought about it.
That is if they haven't taken over the world and enslaved us all by then...
I know someone else who is fighting the temptation to upgrade........which is exactly what 'they' want! :-/
