the pit in the mist - or a bog in the fog

I remember that not so long ago thick, foggy conditions were quite a frequent occurrence. These days though, they are further and farther between.

So, when in late December I happened to look out of the window and couldn't see the end of my garden I packed my camera bag and rushed down to Scott's Pit, as its location close to some marshland would surely lend it an eerie, mystical quality.

Now, while the visibility wasn't quite as poor as it was half a mile or so away at home, it was still very atmospheric.
