Genius, visionary, polymath.  Three words that have never been used to describe me.

Until now that is.

With the requirement to lighten the load of my camera bag to prolong the life of my crumbling spine, I'd looked at removing anything unnecessary from it and even (perish the thought) considered changing my entire medium format set up for something less portly.

And then I had a, and yes I'm going to say it, genius moment.

I need a tripod for my work, and I also need at least one walking stick to help me get around.  So, what if I could somehow combine the two.

I headed into my garage, fired up the power tools and came up with this:

You have to admit it is rather clever.  A walking stick handle screwed onto an Arca-Swiss baseplate attaching it to my tripod.  And then when I get to my location, remove the handle and replace it with my camera.

Do you think I should patent it?
