my salty sea air fix

I make no apologies in this week's post for:

1. re-stating my love for the sea, my luck at living where I do, and the fact I could never move far from here (or if I did, it would be to somewhere else near the sea and mountains)

2. posting an image the like of which I've photographed dozens of times before!

Anyway, towards the end of May I'd not been to the seaside for about three weeks.  Terrible, I know and for me unheard of.  So, one dull, grey evening I headed down to Bracelet Bay in Mumbles to get my coastal well-being medicine and to take the photograph you see below.

Fujifilm GFX100, Fujinon GF 23mm f4
1.2 seconds at f16, ISO 100
Kood 3-stop neutral density filter, Kood 4-stop graduated ND filter (Hard edge)
tripod, self-timed release

Naturally I also took a quick shot of the lighthouse there.  Well, it would have been rude not to wouldn't it?!

Fujifilm GFX100, Fujinon GF 23mm f4
1/60th of a second at f16, ISO 100
tripod, self-timed release
2 shot focus stack

One other thing that would have been unthinkable if I'd not done it was film the whole thing for YouTube. Well, I did film it but it didn't go well!  You can find out why by watching the video below.

  1. I love the second shot! (I would never have even noticed the lighthouse in your photos if you didn't tell us it was there....lol.)
