a photographic re-birth (if you will)

For too long I was a serious landscape photographer.

I would agonise over locations, light, composition, filters, exposure…everything.  I took it seriously and after a while I realised that I wasn't enjoying it as much as I used to.

So, what did I do?

Easy.  I bought a new camera and lenses.  But nothing expensive.  A 10-year-old tiny Fujifilm rangefinder style camera and a couple of cheap, all manual, Chinese lenses.  I wanted something I could carry with me all the time; kind of like a smartphone but with much, much better image quality.

And it worked.

I took my little kit wherever I went and snapped away.  Most of my shots were taken during my nature strolls with Dexter and they re-ignited my interest in macro photography.

I've dabbled with this in the past and I'm not very good at it.  Now while this meant that in the past I gave up easily, my new-found photographic freedom has meant that I care less about getting something technically perfect and more about the simple aesthetic.

Here are some of the images I've shot recently.  No technical details as none are needed!
