kerb (sic) your enthusiasm

I love those little woodland or forest floor cameos that are so abundant at this time of year.  The fallen leaves create wonderful patterns, just ripe for some close-up or macro photography.

Sometimes you have to work quite hard to find suitable scenes.  And sometimes they just come to you.  Sometimes, you don't even have to go to the woods.

The leaves in the image below were blown against the kerb outside my house!  Talk about effortless.  The only problem encountered was trying to keep still long enough while rather painfully bent over.  I had to increase the camera's ISO setting slightly to get a fast enough shutter speed to compensate.
