art or tat?

There is a genre of image-making that I've never really gelled with or thought about seriously.

Intentional camera movement (ICU) is where you take a picture of something over a reasonably long shutter duration of say half a second to a second, and while the shutter us open you move the camera, usually in a pre-meditated, thought-out manner.

The result is a blurry image, and something I could never really get my head around.  But photography is an art form, art is subjective and therefore I can understand why people may like this sort of thing.

Anyway, at the end of last month I found myself in my local patch of woodland with my camera, and thought I'd take a picture of a tree with a pathway leading out from it going deeper into the woods.  Trouble is it was quite dark, meaning I'd need a longer shutter duration, and being without my tripod meant that I'd inevitably get blurry shots.

This was compounded by the fact that for some reason the lens's aperture was set to f13, meaning only the tiniest amount of already dim light was getting through it!

The result?  The blurry shot you see below.  Art or tat?!?!

Nikon D700, Micro-Nikkor 105mm f2.8G
6/10th of a second at f13, ISO 200
handheld

Just in case, I also present to you a much sharper version of the same shot.  All details the same except this is at a much more manageable f3.2 and 1/45th of a second.
