out of the shadows

Some people hate them.  Not me though.  Sometimes when they're buzzing around your head at night time they can be a bit of a nuisance, but otherwise I quite enjoy the company of the odd crane fly.

I spotted this one outdoors, so not annoyingly flying around my bedroom at 3am, and I liked the fact that it appeared out of the gloomy shadows and into the late October sun - to warm its little body up no doubt.

What's also beyond doubt is that I'll find it fluttering around the house in the dead of the night!
