well, we made it

Today, on the eve of my sixty-first birthday (a milestone that I certainly didn't think I'd see) I am uploading to this most majestic of blogs my... one-thousandth post!

1000!

I can't quite believe it.  When I started this blog in October 2014 I didn't know if I'd still be around at the end of the year, let alone over ten years later.  I can still remember sitting down ad trying to come up with something witty.  I failed.

But in the time the blog has grown from one with ad-hoc entries written and uploaded whenever I had the time, to one with a (by and large) regular Monday - Thursday - Monday schedule, with the odd Saturday post thrown in for good measure.

It's grown into a place where I can share my passion for photography, and my images, with you. I've also linked it to my YouTube channel and hope that at least some of you follow my adventures with Dexter over on there.

And finally it's been a place for me to publish four e-books along with numerous photographic guides and workflows.  It has become something I am incredibly proud to own.

But it would be nothing without its readers, and in its lifetime it's garnered more than 210,000 views from all corners of the world.  Thank you to each and every one of you who has read an entry.

And as if that's not enough, at the same time I've almost reached a massive milestone on my YouTube channel as well - three quarters of a million video views!  Again, a huge thank you to anyone who has watched one of my videos.

With my current uploading schedule it'll be at least another ten years before I reach two-thousand posts here.  But rest assured when I do I shall sing from the rooftops about it. Possibly, and quite literally, if I've shuffled off this mortal coil and gone "up above" to meet the choir invisible!
