A couple of years ago we bought two strawberry plants that, quite frankly, were near death.  They cost only a couple of pence but after planting them on and nurturing them, they have provided a reasonable enough harvest of fruit for the past three summers.  And this last summer in particular has seen a bumper harvest of delicious fruit.

It seems though that as the summer comes to an end we may have to share the little beauties with an interloper: a knot grass moth caterpillar to be precise.
