you don't need a garden

I'm in the middle of producing a guide to photographing flowers and gardens.  It should be ready in mid autumn.

Timing eh!

Anyway, as part of it I want to show that you do not need a garden to create beautiful images of plants and flowers.

My local council turns a number of roadside verges across the city into mini wild flower meadows every summer (just like the one pictured here), as well as filling planters with flowers at random locations dotted around and about.

I visited one such "meadow" last week and got these really rather lovely shots of some flowers there.  I used my Nikon Z6 camera along with my Petzval modified Helios 44-2 lens, which produces a really trippy, swirly background.

Speaking of things you don't need... here's another video
