isolation

After a pretty gruesome night in hospital I find myself confined to a cubicle of my own today.

I don't particularly like it, but...

....my hospital room has a lovely view looking out over Swansea Bay and Mumbles Head, this morning's sunrise was sceptacular to say the least (just a shame I couldn't reach my phone to take a picture of it - it's closer at hand for tomorrow) and now that I am able to sit next to an open window I can hear the sea crashing onto the coastline about a quarter of a mile away.

I have always lived in Swansea and I can't imagine ever living more than a few minutes from the sea - I honestly don't think I'd survive.  It always exists to remind me that we live on a vibrant, beautiful living planet.

I'm isolated in my room.  We are all isolated in the vastness of space.

Tonight I will sleep happy.

  1. I paddled in the Gulf of Mexico today, and I concentrated only on you - to try and wish you there to feel the warmth of the sea and hear the crash of the waves and walk on the pure white sand. Next year :-)

  2. A hospital room with a lovely view of the sea......if you have to be in the hospital, that's the way to do it!

  3. Hey buddy, you're getting quite poetic in your old age. You'll be dancing through the daffodils come spring. I can't imagine being land - locked either. Chin up! Are they letting you out tomorrow?
