Apologies for the absence of my blog recently.
Last Sunday, in tremendous pain I was re-admitted to hospital; unable to move and locked into a single position - bed bound.
This morning though I feel much better so, iPhone hotspot set up, I'm just going to ease myself back in by paying tribute to the wonderful professionalism, care, compassion and most importantly moments of sometimes extreme laughter I have received from the second I arrived here from everybody from the cleaners to my consultants.
People are quick to complain a lot about the NHS here, but my experiences over the last month during what has been a very traumatic time for my family and me have been nothing but first rate.
I have at least a few more days in hospital (including over the weekend) but they hold no fear mainly in thanks to the attitude of the staff here.
As an aside, I have started my chemotherapy. It's a 12 week, daily regime that seems a little daunting for now but the end results I know will be worth it. I have also decided that until I have my stem cell transplant next March I am not going cut my hair or shave.
Also I hope to post a rather amusing photo later or tomorrow depending on progress here today! Watch this space...
