why

Why do some people see ghosts?  Why do we all experience déjà vu?

One explanation is that ghosts are actually real, and that déjà vu is simply a brain fart.

But what if there were a deeper, far more complex explanation?  As usual, I have a theory and I’m going to share it with you.  I know, I know... I have far too much time on my hands.

We live in a multi-dimensional universe.  One where everything that has ever happened – every single solitary second in time - is still happening somewhere in the universe.  Like a motion picture being played every second. Permanently.  And obviously getting longer with every coming second.

When we see a ghost then, all that is really happening is that we’ve somehow chanced across a gateway into that movie.  Maybe not the whole thing (this would explain how “ghosts” walk through walls) but a part of it at least.

I’m experiencing amnesia and déjà vu at the same time.  I can’t remember if I’ve forgotten this before

And, everything that is about to happen in the next few seconds is already happening somewhere in the universe.  Like fast forwarding that same movie if you like.  And when we get that “I’ve just done that” feeling, it’s because we have just done it and again, we’ve somehow entered into that future dimension. We’ve seen into the future and then acted it out in real time.

I know what you’re all thinking – that his is a load of old tosh and impossible.  So, just like every other quantum theory then.

Whether in history or in the future.

PS - thank you to everyone for your good wishes after last week's post about my back.  I'm not going to have the surgery right now for the simple reason that because of my liking for getting serious blood clots, the surgeon agrees that the surgery is too dangerous and should only be performed when the pain becomes either too severe or permanent to warrant it.

  1. I've always liked the 'ball of string' explanation.....how it's all happened/happening at the same time and we sometimes 'cross over' onto another place on the ball of string by accident.
Don't ya just love theories? I've got a MILLION of 'em! ;)

  2. ... Or not.
Don’t get me wrong. I agree with your theory. But it also means that some things are happening for the first time (or the last!). It could also mean we have vivid imaginations.
