When I started this blog, I made a decision that I would never, ever talk about politics in it.  My politics are of no concern to anyone else and what I might find perfectly reasonable might offend someone else.

But I found myself unable to keep to this policy earlier this year when I just had to say something about the way our government was handling the coronavirus pandemic.

And now I find myself unable to hold in my feelings again.  This time though, it's American politics that have made me so cross.  

Now, I know that another country's politics are no business of my own, but I've been following the build up to this year's U.S. elections closely and frankly I'm astounded at what I'm seeing.

I simply can't believe how the most powerful person in the whole world can behave in the way the incumbent POTUS does.  I'd not paid any attention to him before until a random video popped up in my YouTube feed and now I'm hooked.  But it's got to the stage where I'm going to have to stop watching any more because I'm getting so angry.

I was going to list some of the things that have amazed me, but I fear it would be so long it might take up the whole of the internet.

From open misogyny and racism through to sheer stupidity and narcissism the list is endless.  And now a clear and obvious attempt to disenfranchise voters is the icing on the cake.

I realise I may have upset some readers and for that I would normally apologise.  But not this time.  Another four years of a Trump presidency would in my opinion be disastrous for America and the world as a whole.

"Mind your own business" I hear you cry.  But the identity of the world's most powerful man is my (and everyone's) business no matter where we live.  I think it's fair to say that no one wants a "f******g moron" (not my words but those of former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson) in possession of the nuclear codes

"Go back to writing about cameras and pictures" I hear you shout.  And I will.  But I just had to get this off my chest or I fear I would have gone insane.
