brace yourself

I really enjoy coastal photography.  I know.  You wouldn't have guessed!

One aspect I really enjoy about it is timing my exposure.  It's about pressing the shutter at that precise time to capture what you want; that moment in time that evokes the experience of being there.

This week's image perfectly illustrates that feeling.

It's that moment just as one wave retreats and another is building, ready to crash over the rock.  I was going to say "unsuspecting rock" but then realised that it must have gone through this experience hundreds of millions of times!

  1. It's almost as if he positioned himself (I know it's a male rock, lol) there for the thrill of the wave to crash over him! He's an adrenalin junkie rock! :D
