off to the tower...again

In early February I managed to escape the clutches of lockdown for around half-an-hour or so.  It was so nice just to be able to get out with my camera, put it on a tripod, point it at something and take a picture.

Quite a simple workflow, but very, very welcome.

My subject had to be local of course, so I decided to return to the old tower opposite the house I grew up in.  I chose it because the light was so dark and moody it perfectly matched the industrial revolution era building - dark, foreboding skies with just a hint of light snow flurries, enlightened by just the thinnest slither of light on the horizon.

And as a bonus, there's a black and white conversion of one of the other mages I shot that evening to enjoy too.

Dark satanic mills and all that.

Back on 6 February I posted a, erm, post all about my days in Waterfall Country.  And to prove that this blog and my YouTube channel are NOT integrated (!!), last Saturday I published a YouTube video all about it.  Which you can watch by clicking below :-)

  1. I always think of the UK as being very 'steampunk' (I think it has to do with Dickens) These photos prove me right! ;)
