where is the (common) sense

At the moment, the U.K. government has its knickers in a right old twist over locating someone who tested positive for the Brazil variant of Covid 19 and then, erm, vanished without trace (or being tracked one assumes).

It seems that our £22 billion (no, that's not a mis-print) test, track and trace system has failed at its most fundamental level.  Who'd have thought that awarding top jobs and contracts to friends of government ministers or someone who's husband went to school with Boris and not to someone with, oh I don't know, an actual fucking clue, would result in chaos?

Anyway, I digress.

Dido (no, that's not a mis-print) Harding

What I am most cross about is why, at a time when my, and many others like me, mental health is at breaking point am I not allowed to leave the house when there are literally tens of thousands of people flying in and out of the country every single day?

I really can't think of an answer to this most simple of questions.

I run the risk of being criminalised for popping outdoors while anyone else it seems can just fly around the globe.

Yes, I understand why the rules are there, but as usual they seem to be being applied in tiers.

And this country cannot, it seems, administer the system for those who are able to jet around, in an efficient enough manner.  This variant is rumoured to evade the current vaccines.  So you'd have thought (wouldn't you) that any arrivals from the countries affected (and there is a list, and this missing person was on it) would be easily tracked and traced after their test.

It's all corrupt and broken.  And who will end up paying for the whole sorry mess?

Yep, you guessed right.

I make no apology for my language.  We are being royally screwed over by a government that only sees fit to serve itself and its crony friends, and not the people who actually put it there.
