bored and waiting...so what to do

Just the other day I found myself stuck at home while my family went out for the afternoon.

Dexter and I stayed home to await delivery of our new garden furniture.  But what to do while waiting?  Take some photographs of course!  But what of?  My garden of course.

So, I decided on using an ancient manual focus, manual everything really Canon 50mm lens on my Fujifilm X-T3 camera.  I also used an 11mm extension tube which enabled much, much closer focusing than the lens alone would allow.

I snapped away to my heart's content; handholding the camera and manual settings all the way.  I set the lens to its closest focusing distance and opened the aperture right up to f1.8.  My goal was abstract close ups of plants and flowers and stuff.

I'm really pleased with the results that this old, adapted lens gave me.  This is a bit of a photo-fest so please excuse the sheer number of images this week.

All images: Fujifilm X-T3, Canon FD 50mm f1.8 (except the last one - Canon FD 200mm f1.8 used)

Of course, I also filmed my exploits and you can watch me wondering around my "estate" with my camera by clicking on the link below.

Oh, the garden furniture?  Lovely.  Couldn't be happier!
