I 100% guarantee this image is real

This past few months I've taken to exploring my local area and getting off the beaten track to find things I've not seen before.

It's surprising, no make that shocking in fact, that after thirty years or so of living where I do, I've been finding brand new places (get this) within one hundred meters of my front door.  I know - it's mad isn't it.

Around that distance as the crow flies, there is a small patch of woodland.  And in this woodland there are many trees; but there is one that really stands out.  In more ways than one.  It's the dead tree that is the subject of this week's image.

Looking at it, it's as if I've copied and pasted the tree from another image onto this one, such is the three-dimensional quality of the picture.  It really does look artificial.  Yet if you make the short trek to it, it looks just like this in real life.  There's something about the way light hits it that makes it jump out in this way.

I can't wait for a foggy morning.  I think it'll look even more stunning.
