At around this time every year for as far back as I can easily remember, I've gone through my favourite images of the past twelve months (from 1 December to 30 November) and picked out a shortlist of around ten images before naming my overall favourite.

And this year is no different.

It's always interesting, looking back, to see how my photography has changed and (hopefully) improved over the years.

I've gone from shooting mainly landscapes and seascapes to macro, nature and latterly some bird photography.

And this year's winner is...
