curled up like a curly curled up thing

A macro image on this Saturday morning.  More precisely, a four image handheld focus bracket macro image of a caterpillar spotted curled up on a leaf.  

It was quite dark, so I lit the scene with my phone's torch (from a 45 degree or so angle to make it look more natural) and then took a number of shots while gently moving my camera back and fore relying on its anti-shake mechanism to keep things sharp enough for jazz!  

I then picked the four most in-focus image to edit and, well, here it is:

I’m all about trying to let my images tell a “story”.  And I think this one does that rather well, with the brand new life juxta-positioned with the fallen and decaying leaf it made its bed on.
