meet Engelbert

Now, some people on waking and finding a spider crawling across their bed might scream, or freeze in fear. Or leap out of bed in whatever state of dress or undress they might find themselves.

Me?  I love spiders and called for my camera and macro lens to be brought hither at great haste in order I might capture a portrait of (I decided to call him) Engelbert.

This was far from an easy image to shoot, requiring a boost in ISO and subsequent noise reduction in post processing.  I didn't have time to get my tripod, set it up and create a focus bracket / stack and the one I tried to do handheld just didn't work, so these are single shots.
