hold on just another gosh darned moment

Following on from last week's "is it spring, is it autumn" post, another confusing image today of a mushroom (usually associated with the tail end of the year) shot in March.

I have my daughter to thank for this one though, for it was her eyes that spotted it, not mine. That it was framed by a beautifully decaying leaf only enhances the image I feel.

While I have my daughter's eyesight to thank for spotting the image, my camera (Fujifilm's rather excellent X-H2 in this case) must also take some credit.  I had to place it directly on the (thankfully dry) ground to get the exact composition I wanted, relying heavily on the camera's fully articulating rear screen, without which I'd have been left guessing as to my composition, framing and focus.

Anyway, I give you the tiny mower's mushroom:

Fujifilm X-H2, TTArtisans 100mm f2.8 macro
1/320th of a second at f2.8, ISO 125
hand (or rather ground) held
