shapes of things

I’m always on the lookout for things that I think will make for an interesting composition: different textures, light and shapes and so on…

This view across the upper reaches of the Swansea Valley caught my eye immediately.  I saw it as a square crop with three distinct elements: the top half of the picture the grey sky, and the bottom split diagonally into two distinct colours by the “S” of the dry-stone wall snaking across the fields.

I used my telephoto zoom lens to “reach” across the valley and grab the image.
