old Nikons never die...

...except when they do!

Back in January 2018 my beloved Nikon D800 met its end at Limeslade Bay when a freak wave caught me, it and the lens on it sweeping my camera gear into the briny and soaking me up to my waist.

The camera and lens were ruined.  Completely.

But every cloud and all that.  I started my affair with Fujifilm and haven't looked back.  Much lighter gear, the mirrorless experience and, for me, better images have helped soften the blow of losing my lovely Nikon.

Anyway, where is all this going I hear you ask.

Nowhere really.  Just that the other day I got the drowned camera down from the loft and (no, it isn't miraculously now working!!) I stripped it down as far as I could, exposing the magnesium shell and some of the internal "gubbins" and thought you'd quite like to see what such an object looks like.

Well, feast your eyes!

Very "robotic" dontcha think?
