phoeneography

I watched a video the other day about a new Samsung mobile phone.  Well, I say phone - but the phone was probably the most insignificant part of the device.

What really grabbed my attention was the phone's, sorry device's, camera.  Or rather cameras.  You see it had three; or was it four?  I can't recall.  But one of these cameras had a sensor with in excess of 100 megapixels.  In a pho... handheld device.

I mean, come on!

My phone is a phone.  It's an age-old (in tech terms) iPhone X. It has two cameras.  Well three if you count the selfie one on the front of the phone.

I rarely use it for serious image making.  It's usually reserved for capturing moments or recording images for future visits with my proper camera.  Sometimes though, with the latter, I've actually got a more pleasing image with my phone than I eventually captured with my camera.

This week's image is one of those.

I shot this image while scouting locations near Cray Reservoir in the Swansea Valley.  Although I later returned with my Fujifilm X-T3 camera, I couldn't get as pleasing an image as I got with my phone.  Perhaps it was down to conditions, or me.  Perhaps I wasn't "on it" that day.

Whatever, I'm glad I got the image I did when I did.
