how ridiculous is this?
I'm not what you might call an avid reader. I mean, my standard is more Janet & John than War & Peace. But the other day I thought I'd order a book on stoicism from Amazon to read on my Kindle.
And this, dear reader, is where my woes began.
After putting in my email and password several times, each time it was rejected as being incorrect somewhere along the line. But, and this is a big but, Amazon were sending me those one-time codes you need to verify your details. So, clearly my details were OK at the Amazon end but not good enough for the Kindle.
Around a dozen or so times!
No matter I thought, I'll install the Kindle app on my iPad. After all the Kindle I use is one I bought for my wife when they first came out and it's probably now well passed its useful life.
I downloaded the app, put in all my details (the exact same ones as I was putting in my Kindle) and yay - first time success. But, yes there's another but, Amazon couldn't send me a verification code because I'd already had my limit for the day!
If anyone finds a Kindle, in several pieces, in the Swansea area you are more than welcome to the thing!
I admit they had won me over with the price, me not having any experience with any ereader at that time, but the amount of central control built into those kindle devices annoys me considerably.
