these took me back
I'm currently filming a video about some train tracks. Riveting I know, but when I was a small boy I spent many hours watching trains on my local tracks, writing down the numbers in a book and trying to sketch the trains I saw.
As part of the process I dug up two old reference books I cherished at the time, and had an absolute blast looking back through them and bringing back memories of sitting on the railway bridge at the top of my road with my pen and notebook in hand!
Do you remember getting the Ladybird and Observer's books when you were young? I'd imagine there's a fairly active and lucrative market in these old books now. I still have a fair few from my childhood, and many were enjoyed by my daughter when she was little - particularly the old folk and children's story ones.
Back to today though and I wish I could find that old notebook with my train information in it, but it was probably either destroyed by my parents or left in our old home when it was sold many years ago.
Keep an eye out for the video on my YouTube channel, though at the moment I've no idea when I might finish it.
