dogs

They say that dogs have a sixth sense.  Some sort of mystical power that means they know exactly what sort of mood you're in before you do, know if you're ill before the doctors do and have an inbuilt ability to make everything just seem right with the world.

While out with Dexter just the other day, I was looking for an old local landmark known as "the kissing gate".  But search as hard as I could, I just couldn't find it among the now completely overgrown grounds that contained it.

Knotweed and wild rhubarb abounded, with brambles and nettles thrown in for good measure, leading me to give up my quest.

Dexter though had different ideas,  As I tried to pull him out of the tangled mess we'd got ourselves into, he steadfastly pulled me in the opposite direction; further into the under (and over!) growth.

And then just when I thought we could go no further, he pulled me into a clearing, sat down, looked up at me and saw my surprise and awe when I looked upon the gate I had been searching for.

Quite how he knew what I was actually looking for and how to even find it I have absolutely no idea.  He's never been there before and the plant life there was so dense that you couldn't see further than a yard or so in any direction - including upwards.

But find it he did.

AMAZING!
