it's supposed to make it easier

A bonus Saturday post.  Just what you'd hoped for!!

For some time now I've been using an external monitor alongside the built in one on my iMac.

So, I have two 27" high resolution screens - my 5K Apple one and a 4K Samsung one.  The Apple one is way better and is the one I use to do my photo and video editing on.  Although I calibrate both screens every month, the Samsung one just isn't as "vivid" as the Apple one.

Anyway, that's not the point.

What frustrates me is the random nature that windows adopt when I open them.  Quite often I'll click on an icon in the dock on my Apple monitor only for it to then open on the Samsung.  And vice-versa.  And there's no pattern to this randomness (obviously).

It's most frustrating though when the Samsung monitor isn't turned on.  I'll open a window on my iMac only for nothing to seemingly happen.  So, I click again...and again but still nothing until that is I switch on the Samsung and there is my window - on a screen that wasn't even powered on.

Quite why this madness persists I have no idea.  Perhaps it's just me?  I am after all notoriously unlucky when it comes to, well, everything really.

Whatever, I shall persist until one day I'll completely lose it and hurl one (or both) of them through the window.

  1. I know! I have a large Wacom Cintiq for arting next to my monitor and sometimes.....when I'm too vigorous....my desktop icons 'slip' over to the Wacom. When the Wacom's not on I can't see it. And I panic! Then I calm down and realize what happened. LOL
