isn't it marvellous what they can do these days

At time of writing (mid December) I always like to go through the images I shot with my phone in the year and pick out the best thirty or so.  And then from that I whittle them down until I drive at my absolute favourite.

It's a really enjoyable experience, bu also one that can make you realise your life is going so fast that it seems like only yesterday I did this for 2019!

Still, what always amazes me is just how good phone images are these days.  I mean, only a few years ago anything shot with a phone would be pixelated, noisy, lack any dynamic range and be, well, just rubbish honestly.

But now I think you really could get by with using one as your main camera.  And my iPhone X is now three years old - ancient by modern standards.  I think I'll upgrade this year when Apple bring out their new phone (iPhone 13 at a guess - unless they're superstitious!) in the Autumn.  The camera will probably be next level again.

Whatever, for now, here is my favourite phone image of 2020.  It was shot in early December,  and I love it.
