all of a sudden it just kicked off

I've lamented the lack of any autumnal colour on this blog a fair few times recently.  But that was all put to bed one day last month when after meeting a friend for coffee at a local woodland I took Dexter for a short stumble into the woods.

I couldn't believe my eyes.  Autumn had landed at last; or had it been hiding here from me all along?!

Whatever, I was glad that I had not one but two cameras with me, one with a wide-angle 16mm lens and the other with a 35mm standard lens attached.  So, here are the three images I shot that day.

This first image is a 22x7 crop of the original:

Fujiilm X-E1, Fujinon XF35mm f2
1/8th of a second @ f8, ISO 200
handheld

The second was shot with the wide-angle lens:

Fujifilm X-T4, Fujinon XF16mm f1.4
1/15th of a second @f5.6, ISO 160
handheld

And for this final image I opened the 35mm lens up to its widest f2 aperture and focused on the foreground leaves, throwing the background into a (hopeful) blur of autumn colour:

  1. I love that 'your' trees have so much moss on them. They look surreal! (I expect them to come to life!!!)
