turneresque

I admit I rarely travel far to get my photographs.  They are all, well nearly all, taken within a few miles of my home.  I am though lucky to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastlines that make travelling any great distance unnecessary in any event.

This week's image though takes that philosophy to its limits!  It was shot from the comfort of my conservatory and were it not for my neighbour's shed blocking my view ever so slightly, I think I could have got it while sitting down!

Whatever, and wherever, I really like it for the sky.  A warm (for October), sunny (again for October) day was beginning to give way to an incoming weather system.  This is often when the best light happens, and this day was no different.

The sun breaking through and illuminating the upper part of the hill and the small copse of trees was an added bonus.

I do like a big sky in my images.  I think it's something I've "inherited" from my love of Turner's landscapes.  Now he was the master of the big sky!
