back garden photography
Whenever I feel the need for some instant photographic gratification, I'm not always in a position to hop in the car and go somewhere with my camera. So, when this happens, I take to my garden to take pictures, of my flowers or plants.
There are occasions though when I don't even leave the comfort of my lounge!
These four images of Drummau Mountain behind my house were taken by resting my camera and its longest lens on a window frame in my conservatory. No need for a tripod - I just turn on my camera's in body image stabilisation and couple it with the lens's own optical stabilisation for a, well, stabilised image - what else?!.
Of course, it all depends on something interesting happening in the sky, as these are images of the light and not the actual mountain itself, although the small copse of trees does help to give the image a semblance of a subject and something to anchor them or provide a theme.
I did consider committing to a year long project, photographing the same scene every day over the year, and then maybe producing a time lapse film of sorts. What do you think?

While the above images were shot with a quite expensive medium format telephoto lens, it doesn't have to be that way. If you're interested in getting some cheap lenses to help broaden your photographic horizons, then I've just the video for you:
Full moon rising! Now THAT'S art! :D
