this should be compulsory

After my trip to the bluebells the other week, I was left pretty well immobile and feeling rotten, and all because I'd overdone things that evening.

But as soon as I felt able, I thought I'd go out for a stroll around some local fields and woodland that even in my state should have taken me twenty minutes - tops.  An hour and a half later I fell through the front door, feeling even worse than the preceding week or so.

I fear my back is deteriorating.  Oh well.

During my walk I was able to get a few really nice macro images.  Nowhere near the standard of a good macro photographer, but then I'm not that good at close up stuff.

My favourite is this image of a wasp clambering over a newly growing fern.  I didn't spot it at the time, but hiding beneath the fern is a tiny spider.

I wonder who ate who?!?!

Even with the rapid shutter speed, I still wasn't able to freeze the motion in the wasp's antennae.  Isn't nature wonderful?

Anyway, regardless of how unwell it made me feel, I did experience a degree of calmness and serenity when I was out in nature.  I honestly think we should all be made to make time to get out at least once a week.  Everyone would feel better I'm sure, along with a newfound appreciation for our surroundings leading to a better world.

Fanciful I know but I can dream!

There is, of course, an accompanying YouTube vlog containing all the images from my morning out, which if you click on the link below will somehow (witchcraft maybe) play on your screen.

Please watch and if you enjoy, like the video and maybe even subscribe to my channel.  And spread the word too!!
