fingerprints

I recently watched a tech reviewer on YouTube going on and on about why hasn't Apple introduced a touch screen MacBook.

Probably because they already have iPads you dummy, but hopefully also because they are a company that prides itself on design and aesthetics, the very thought of a computer screen plastered in greasy dabs from the user's fingers doesn't appeal to them.

And I agree.

hands off!!

I have four Apple devices: a desktop Mac Mini, a MacBook Pro, an iPad and an iPhone.  And I am constantly wiping finger marks from the latter two.

Our car has a large touch screen slap bang in the middle of the dashboard.  I hate it.  Well as soon as it's been used after I've just polished the fingerprints off of the damn thing.

When I was working, people would often come up to my desk and point something out on my PC's monitor by touching it.  I used to remonstrate with them that as it's not a touch screen monitor then there's no need to touch it is there!

Fingerprints exist for one sole reason: the detection of crime.  I should know.  I had mine (and my DNA) taken as part of a mass murder enquiry back in 2000.  I kid you not.  But the house where four people had been brutally murdered was one I'd visited in the course of my employment shortly before the horrific night when its occupants were killed.

I was assured that this was for elimination purposes only (but it was still a very scary experience) and that they would be destroyed accordingly.  I was asked whether I'd like to be present for their destruction, but I declined, putting my trust in the police to do it.  Not that I've any worries or concerns otherwise.

But no.  If criminals can go to great lengths to keep their dabs off stolen property, then it should be quite simple for whoever it is that uses my laptop to keep their filthy mitts of its screen!

Have you ever thought that there just aren't enough videos about photographic accessories out there?  Well, ponder no more as there's one just here…

What a sheer coincidence!

And there's another bonus video this week too.  I goy out for a short stroll and took some pictures.  I know, I know, nothing different ever happens…
