I had to re-watch this video

I don't watch much TV it has to be said.  But I am a fan of YouTube - I guess because there's always something on that interests me.  Because I search for and choose it of course.  And from time to time, you get videos presented to you that you might enjoy.

Now, you may remember a while back I wrote about an app that people use to plan, well, just about everything they do - I'll link to it here - and recently had another video from that creator recommended to me in my YouTube feed.

It was all about relationships and how to maintain your particular one (or more if you're that way inclined, I guess!) and it was to be fair quite interesting.

according to this iPad we should divorce...

Now, most of the stuff was quite obvious.  Things like listening, being attentive, doing things together, etc.  But then he mentioned having an annual relationship "review".  Honestly, he wanted couples to hold what was akin to an annual job appraisal!

I'd just got over the shock of this, and wondering what Lisa would say if I said "right, next Tuesday we're going to sit down and analyse how and where our marriage is going", when his next words were (and I kid you not) "and the piece of software my partner and I use for this is…".

I honestly don't know what app he then went on to talk about as I was in a state of deep shock! Even after re-winding and watching that portion over again.

Firstly, reducing your relationship to something more like a work thing was one thing, but actually then relying on software, an actual app, to manage that interaction I found completely bizarre.

This may be down to my age I guess - I'm not exactly on the same page as the current twenty-somethings, or it might just be that I don't feel the need to schedule a meeting with my wife to discuss the last twelve months and then decide on a set of mutually agreeable goals for the next!

I would ask Lisa, but she informs me her diary is full until October…

Talking of videos you'll want to watch over and over (!!!), this week's tech offering is all about the proper care of a tripod.  I know, I know - where are the awards??
