happy at last

I spent most of the later years of my career sat at a desk.

It took some time to adapt from my previous role which, although office based, saw me spend the majority of my time away from the office and working from my car or the occasional cafe. While I was glad to leave this stressful and sometimes confrontational job behind, I did miss the freedom it afforded me.

But I now had a lovely safe, warm and comfortable office to work from with my only time away from it being appearances at tribunals, which kept me on my toes I can say.

Anyway, after retirement was forced on me and I needed something else to keep me busy, I threw myself into writing (for this blog, e-books, photography courses, etc.) as well as my photography and then videography after setting up my YouTube channel.

And all this extra activity meant I just had to have a space to work from, so I set about converting the spare bedroom in our home into an office / studio.

where the magic happens!

I was never really 100% satisfied with the space though.  Until now that is, and the introduction of a new. super-duper computer along with a general re-think and tidy up of my desk area.  I now have a space that I'm really very happy to work in, with few compromises between practicality, aesthetics and comfort.

The extra ports on my new computer mean fewer cables trailing under my desk, and everything is just, well, neater.

Of course, I'll still keep on churning out the same turgid rubbish for my blog, Instagram and YouTube so you'll have no worries on that part.  Just that I'll now feel a lot happier doing it!

And also of course, this post is accompanied by a video you can watch just by clicking below:

As if this isn't enough, here's a short video showcasing some of my most favourite butterfly and moth images captured this year:
