a life in vain
For the past week or so there has been a cobweb attached to one of the window frames in our house. And every day my wife gets the hoover out to clear it away I stop her, concerned there may be a spider living inside it somewhere.
Well, after these two flying insects - one of them a traditional wasp and the other, a much smaller species (a mosquito maybe) - became trapped in it I figured the spider would surely make its presence known. But no. And so, with a heavy heart the cobweb, along with these creatures who died in vain, is now residing in a vacuum cleaner in a cupboard.
Still, made for a nice picture though!

The only problem I had really was lighting it. Shooting from the indoors against a bright light source (the outside world) was always going to render any subject as a silhouette. So, I broke out my dual LED light to illuminate the little insect cadavers and attempt to balance ambient and created light.
