last of the summer pollen

Towards the end of last month (September then) we had a spell of sunny and reasonably warm weather.  This brought out a few bugs and the like all in search of a last meal before the winter.  

While out and about in the garden I spotted this bee-mimicking drone fly on some flowers, and so concentrated was its effort in getting a feed that it posed away nicely for a good few minutes before eventually buzzing off.
