not tonight, I've got a headache

We all remember those old 70s non-PC sit-coms don't we?  This line was oft trotted out by "the wife" in the cast while rebuffing her husband's amorous advances.

A simple headache.

Now, doctors have announced that a headache needs to be added to the list of symptoms that should trigger a covid test.

A simple headache.

Millions of people have headaches every day - I've got one right now.  How will the already straining at the seams covid test facilities cope with the influx of worried people for whom a couple of paracetamols would provide ample relief from their symptoms.

So, should the term headache be qualified.  A severe headache, or a continuous headache maybe?  Trouble is, all these terms are subjective.  My mild pain could be someone else's migraine; someone else's continuous might be a couple of hours to me.

Now while I am all for the early detection of this, and any illness, opening the testing floodgates to people with headaches will overwhelm testers and cause unnecessary worry for many.

Where do you draw the line?

This is my last Saturday post for a while.  I'm reverting to Monday and Thursday posts again from next week.  Phew - what a relief!
