wishes

I hope you all got what you wanted for Christmas this year.

Deep down I know I got all I could have hoped for for now - being near home and family; seeing and making contact with (in some cases very) old friends; the care of special staff here at Singleton Hospital not one of whom (do you know I'm still unsure under what context to use the term "whom") did I hear complain that they had to work over Christmas.  Great gifts to cheer me up.  Oh, and some new pyjamas and a win for the Swans as well.

Next Christmas my expectations may be raised a little, but for now I'll take what I've got, raise an imaginary glass of your favourite tipple with you and wish you all the compliments of the season.

Now, where's my scotch hot chocolate...

  2. I worked shifts for about 17 years of my working life which meant that on Christmas Day I could either be on mornings, afternoons, nights or off. I don't know which was the worst especially with a young daughter at the time......probably mornings as I'd miss the opening of presents. I've got many stories of shift working over Christmas but I'll save them for when you're home. Meanwhile keep making progress and building up your strength.......the hard work and determination will be rewarded.
