I'm no grammar nazi, but...

Anyone who has followed this blog for more than a few months will know that neither my grammar nor spelling are always on point.  God knows, when I do make a mistake my sister, a person who can, and let's be honest here, barely read or string a sentence together* will pick me up on it.

But I do have one particular bugbear that I absolutely deplore, and that is the incorrect pronunciation of the letter "H".

Whenever I hear someone say it as "haitch" I have this very real need to have them taken out the back and summarily executed!  It's pronounced "aitch".  That's AITCH!  There is no "h" at the start of the word and therefore there's no need to pronounce it.

It's right up there with the substitution of the word "of" for "have".  For example, "he should of done that".  Just no, for the love of God.  I mean, you wouldn't say "of you got the time please" would you?

No.

It's HAVE.  With an aitch!
